INSTRUCTIONS FOR “HITCH PLATE
HEIGHT GAUGE” BY ROTOCHOK
NOTE: Insure that your trailer is
properly chocked before hitching up.
An amber reflector is provided as a “TARGET” while
backing.
(Position in the center on lower front of trailer)
Place “HEIGHT GAUGE” in body of truck, behind the
hitch
and centered side to side. Adjust horizontal pointer up or down
so the yellow tip touches the hitch plate in the truck. Tighten
handle.
Rotate gauge 180o and move to rear of truck so the yellow end
of horizontal pointer is now facing the front of your fifth wheel
trailer.
Start backing towards the trailer. Line up the yellow ball on top of vertical
pointer with the amber reflector (provided) on the front of the trailer. This
will assist you to align the truck with the trailer side to side.
Stop backing when the yellow tip on the horizontal pointer just
about touches the trailer.
Raise or lower the trailer to match tip of horizontal pointer with the trailer
king pin plate. You have now matched the height of the hitch plate in the truck
to the king pin.
Make sure trailer is in proper position and has clearance before final backing.
